Caretaker Prime Minister  Oreskovic and his outgoing ministers agreeing to move urgent amendments to the law on the prevention of incidents at sporting events and the law on sports, and that the hooligans who have been identified will be prosecuted upon returning to Croatia.

Oreskovic held a working meeting with Foreign Minister Miro Kovac, Interior Minister Vlaho Orepic, Justice Minister Ante Sprlje, Sports Minister Predrag Sustar, and Security and Intelligence Agency chief Danijel Markic, the government said in a press release.

They confirmed that relevant Croatian bodies did everything within their remit in a timely manner to prevent incidents at Euro 2016, notifying the French authorities, and that the Interior Ministry offered to send 20 Croatian police officers to France for the Croatia-Spain match on Tuesday to help their French colleagues. The French authorities thanked the ministry for the offer but said security would be ensured with additional efforts and stepped-up measures by the host.

The French authorities have been asked once again to "do everything in their power to prevent incidents at tomorrow's match in Bordeaux." Sustar will watch tomorrow's match as Oreskovic's envoy.

Reports were submitted at the meeting on what Croatian ministries had done and it was said that cooperation had lasted for months, the press release said, adding that the French authorities and the organisers of Euro 2016 had been provided in advance with information on the identities of possible perpetrators and been warned.

Joint work and action by all relevant bodies have helped to prevent much bigger incidents that were planned, and the meeting heard that the perpetrators of the incidents at Friday's match in St. Etienne have been identified and that they would be prosecuted upon returning to Croatia, the press release said.

Participants in the meeting agreed to launch urgent amendments to the law on the prevention of incidents at sporting events and the law on sports.
