Prime Minister meets EU special representative in Bosnia
ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Monday met the European Union special representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Miroslav Lajcak, for talks on the current situation there, the government said in a statement, adding that Sanader reiterated Croatia's support for Lajcak's efforts and the work of his office.
The two officials also talked about the efforts through which Croatia, together with other partners in the international community and in cooperation with Bosnian authorities, is supporting and helping Bosnia to achieve European standards and to join the EU and NATO.
Sanader stressed that Bosnia's stability depended on the respect for the equality of its three constituent peoples - Croats, Bosniaks and Serbs.
Lajcak thanked Sanader for Croatia's support and constructive policy towards Bosnia and the entire Southeast Europe. He agreed that the equality of Bosnia's three peoples was the foundation for the country's stability and progress, stressing that the accomplishment of this goal required the joint efforts of local authorities and the international community, Croatia included.
The two officials also talked about the right of Croat refugees from the northern Bosnian Posavina area to vote in Bosnia's October 5 elections, and about enabling Croat refugees to return to prewar homes in Bosnia.
