Prime Minister meets Macedonian parliament speaker

ZAGREB, Oct 9 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Friday received Macedonian Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski, saying the recent unblocking of Croatia's accession negotiations with the European Union was a good message to all countries in the region.

Macedonia's drawing closer to NATO and the EU is being blocked by Greece over a dispute over Macedonia's name.

Kosor said Croatia was facing the important goal of wrapping up the entry talks with the EU, saying their unblocking was a good message to all Southeast European countries.

Veljanoski welcomed the lifting of the blockade and thanked the Croatian government for its support for Macedonia's bid to join the EU.

The two officials reaffirmed the good cooperation between the two countries and supported the intensifying of economic cooperation, notably in tourism.
