Prime Minister meets with Spanish foreign minister

ZAGREB, June 2 (Hina) - Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor met with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos in Zagreb on Wednesday.

Kosor congratulated Moratinos on the successful organisation of a EU-Western Balkans ministerial conference in Sarajevo earlier in the day, saying that the conference was important for the stability and prosperity of southeastern Europe.

Kosor said she expected that Croatia would open negotiations on all remaining policy chapters during the Spanish EU presidency and that it would complete the technical part of the negotiations by the end of the year.

Croatia is committed to meeting all the membership requirements, Kosor said, thanking Spain for supporting Croatia on its path towards the EU.

Moratinos said he was optimistic about Croatia's EU membership bid, adding that Spain fully supported Croatia in its efforts to join the bloc.

Moratinos thanked Kosor for attending the 6th summit between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean, which recently took place in Madrid.
