Prime Minister Plenkovic with Boris Johnson

​Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic on Wednesday received British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Boris Johnson, for talks on bilateral relations, underscoring that Croatia wanted to develop strong relations with the United Kingdom, notably in the business and tourism sectors.

PM Plenkovic expressed regret at the outcome of the British referendum on the exit from the European Union in June, and said that Zagreb wanted to develop strong relations with London and ensure freedom of movement for workers. 
 
Johnson said that it is not in Britain's interest to see the EU weaken and that London opts for strong partnership with the EU.
 
The British Foreign Secretary said that Brexit would not affect the common trade policy.
 
Johnson is also meet  with his Croatian counterpart, Davor Ivo Stier.
