ZAGREB, Jan 21 (Hina) - A members of the European Parliament and rapporteur for Croatia, Hannes Swoboda, on Monday sent a letter to Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader congratulating him on a vote of confidence in his government, expressing readiness to continue to cooperate with the new Croatian government.
Swoboda also said he hoped the European Parliament would support support Croatia's agreement on joining the EU before it is dissolved in 2009.
The chairman of the joint Croatia-EU parliamentary committee Pal Schmitt, also hailed te forming of the new Croatian government and supported the continuation and conclusion of Croatia's EU entry talks.
He underlined that the EPP-ED Group strongly supported the latest European Parliament's report on Croatia and that he also supported Croatia's efforts to wrap up its EU membership talks before the European Parliament is dissolved in June 2009.
