Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday organised a working lunch for Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic who is on his first official visit to Croatia.
The two officials discussed Slovakia's support for Croatia's efforts to join the European Union and NATO and its role in ensuring regional stability.
The Slovak president, who has paid a number of private visits to Croatia, confirmed his country's strong support for Croatia's membership of the EU and NATO. He expressed the belief that Croatia's EU entry talks would be completed as planned.
The Slovak parliament last week ratified the protocol on Croatia's admission to NATO.
The two officials also discussed the situation in the region and Croatia's role in processes aimed at establishing lasting stability and security.
