U.S. Secretary of State Clinton sends Kosor congratulatory letter

ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - US State Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton has congratulated new Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on being the first woman to hold this office in Croatia, the Croatian Government said in a press release on Friday.

Clinton's congratulatory letter, which outgoing US ambassador in Zagreb Robert Bradtke handed to Kosor during their meeting on Friday, described Kosor's appointment as a great turning point.

The letter reads that the United States supports Croatia in its Euro-Atlantic integration and appreciates Croatia's constructive role in the regional and global plan.

PM Kosor thanked Washington for its support for Croatia's admission to NATO and efforts to join the European Union.

She also thanked Bradtke for his contribution to the enhancement of US-Croatia relations during his ambassadorship in Zagreb.
