ZAGREB, July 17 (Hina) - British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has congratulated his Croatian counterpart Jadranka Kosor on her appointment, saying the United Kingdom has always been one of the strongest advocates of Croatia's accession into Euro-Atlantic organisations, the Croatian government said in a press release on Friday.
Brown said in a statement the UK was happy that Croatia was a member of NATO and once again expressed his country's support to Croatia on the road to European Union membership as well as its commitment to help Croatia meet all the membership conditions, notably through their strategic bilateral partnership.
We will continue to seek ways to strengthen that partnership, Brown said, adding he was especially pleased to see how much attention was being paid to the strengthening of the Croatian and British defence systems.
