Predsjednica Vlade Republike Hrvatske Jadranka Kosor uputila je, u povodu Dana neovisnosti, čestitku svim hrvatskim građankama i građanima.
ZAGREB, Oct 6 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Tuesday issued a message on the occasion of Independence Day, which is observed on October 8.
In the message, Kosor recalled the day when 18 years ago Croatia severed all constitutional and legal ties with the then Yugoslav federation. She paid tribute to all Croatian soldiers who had contributed to the establishment of the Croatian state, and those killed in the Homeland War.
The PM also recalled Croatia's achievements in the 18 years of its independence, such as membership of NATO, the anticipated membership of the European Union, and the country's role as an irreplaceable factor of stability and security in the region and a reliable partner on the international political scene.
Commenting on the impact of the global crisis and recession on the national economy, she said that the government would continue making efforts so that Croatia could become a fully developed modern European democracy of economic prosperity.
