ZAGREB, Nov 30 (Hina) - The National Security Council on Monday convened for a session at which President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, Deputy Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks, and other council members heard and analysed reports on the fight against corruption and organised crime.
Corruption and organised crime represent a threat to national security, but political will, the legislative framework and the organisational structure are successfully removing corruption risks and punishing corruption-related activities, it was concluded.
The efforts of state bodies involved in the fight against corruption and organised crime -- the Interior Ministry, the State Attorney's Office, the Justice Ministry, and the Security and Intelligence Agency -- have been successful in that struggle, the council concluded.
