Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said on Tuesday that during his visit to the Interliber book fair in Zagreb he received news that fugitive businessman Ivica Todoric had turned himself to the police in London.
"This is in accordance with the European Arrest Warrant issued by the Croatian police. The usual procedure will follow," Plenkovic said.
"Todoric has rights as the accused person and I believe he will exercise them," the prime minister said, declining to speculate about any time frames for extradition.
Asked if the Croatian judiciary was aware of Todoric's whereabouts and if they tipped the British authorities, Plenkovic said he did not know and that this was the issue for the judicial authorities.
