Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković sent a letter of congratulations to Giuseppe Conte who was sworn in as Italy's new prime minister:
„On the occasion of your appointment as President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, I extend my sincere congratulations on my personal behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian people. I wish you every success in carrying out the duties of this distinguished office.
Allow me to also use this opportunity to extend my best wishes on the occasion of today’s Republic Day, marking the 72nd anniversary of the foundation of the Italian Republic.
Croatia and Italy are two neighbouring and friendly countries with a longstanding tradition of exemplary close political, economic and cultural relations. I am dedicated to working with you on maintaining these bonds and exploring areas in which our collaboration can be additionally strengthened for the benefit of both of our countries and peoples, bilaterally and as Member States of the European Union. I believe that the Croatian minority in Italy and the Italian minority in my country are an additional value to our relationship and a strong motivation for its further development.”
