Close relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Holy See confirmed

Prime Minister Andrej Plenković met today with Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See's secretary for relations with states and international organizations.

Expressing his welcome, Prime Minister Plenković thanked Archbishop Gallagher for coming to Zagreb for the celebration of the feast of Our Lady of the Stone Gate, patroness of the city of Zagreb. Plenković thanked Archbishop Gallagher for his presence and celebration of the Holy Mass in the Church of St. Jerome in Rome on May 28, on the occasion of celebrating the Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia.
 
Mutual satisfaction with the close relations between the Republic of Croatia and the Holy See was highlighted. Prime Minister Plenković recalled the upcoming 30th anniversary of the visit of Pope Ivan Paul II. Croatia in September 1994, which was a great sign of encouragement and support in war times.
 
Plenković and Gallagher also exchanged opinions on the situation in the region of Southeast Europe, where Croatia and the Holy See continuously advocate for stability and further European path of the countries of the region.
