Employment in July up for fifth straight month

There were about 1.364 million people with jobs in Croatia in July, up 0.7 percent on the month, and July was also the fifth consecutive month in which employment increased, the national statistical office said on Monday.

The number of the jobless has been decreasing for months, with 257,994 registered with the Employment Service at the end of July, down 0.8% from June.
 
The unemployment rate dropped from 16.1 to 15.9%, its lowest level in nearly six years.
