Gov't approves free and discount travel for islanders

Amendments to the sea transport law aimed at keeping and ensuring a population growth on the islands, including the Peljesac peninsula, will facilitate free fares and discount fares for all islanders as well as businesses whose headquarters are registered on islands.

Students, pensioners and people over 65 years of age who live on the islands will continue to travel free of charge as will health workers and vehicles during regular medical attention or in emergency situations as well as other public service vehicles during regular duty.

Discount fares will be provided for islanders and businesses registered on the islands and their vehicles.
