CHF loans on govt. agenda this week, says deputy PM
The government is expected to discuss a bill on Swiss franc loans this week so that parliament can discuss it next week, Deputy Prime Minister Branko Grcic said on Monday, adding that the bill had been drawn up.
He was speaking to press in Brestovec Orehovicki, where he and Education Minister Vedran Mornar opened a new school gymnasium, mostly financed by Grcic's Regional Development and EU Funds Ministry. Asked if he was campaigning for the coming parliamentary election, Grcic said he was inaugurating projects funded by his ministry.
He announced bigger EU-funded projects, saying an application for the financing of the Peljesac bridge would be submitted in late October. He said this was one of the biggest projects of the incumbent government. He also mentioned the construction and renovation of student dorms, a project with HRK 230 million, the construction of a new Dubrovnik airport, worth EUR 250 million, as well as of the Ciovo bridge and numerous water supply systems.
He said Croatia received HRK 3 billion from the EU budget in the first half of 2015, HRK 2 billion more than at the same time last year.
Grcic said the Kupari tourism project and the Strategic Investments Act were proceeding normally. He said 15 or 16 big projects were being implemented under that act, the biggest being an LNG terminal on Krk island.
