Commission on purchase of multi-purpose combat aircraft holds first meeting

The interdepartmental commission on the purchase of multi-purpose combat aircraft held its first meeting in Zagreb on Wednesday, the prime minister's office said in a press release.

The procurement process will be based on the Defence Ministry's technical study which has defined the number of aircraft and their characteristics. One of the requirements is that the aircraft is made in a member state of NATO or the European Union.

Negotiations will be held on a government to government basis, with two parallel processes evaluating new and used aircraft separately. A separate process will also be launched to explore options for pilot training.
