Construction of new Zagreb Airport passenger terminal starts

The beginning of the construction of a building of the future new passenger terminal at Zagreb Airport was marked at a ceremony on Wednesday, with Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic and other senior officials attending.

Upon its finalisation in late 2016, the new terminal will be able to cater for 5 million passengers annually, twice the capacity of the current terminal.

Milanovic later told reporters that this project was important for Croatia, as this investment was creating new jobs and would upgrade passenger services at the airport in the Croatian capital.

The CEO of the company-concessionaire "Zagreb International Airport" (MZLZ), Bruno Mazurkiewicz, said that this ceremony also marked the beginning of the Public and Private Partnership between the ZAIC consortium and Croatia.
