Croatia adopts NSRF to have EUR 438 mn at its disposal by year's end
The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a national strategic reference framework for 2013 to facilitate absorption of 438 million euros from the European Union structural funds by the end of this year.
As for 2014, a new financial perspective for 2014-2020 will be in place and EUR 8.8 billion will be made available to Croatia, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Branko Grcic, said.A national strategic reference framework (NSRF) is reference document for the programming of European Union Funds at national level of member states for the 2007–2013 period. It was elaborated within the framework of the new strategic approach to the Cohesion Policy of the European Union.
The NSRF which Croatia adopted today addressed four sectors: transport, environment protection, regional competitiveness and human resources development.
The Cabinet of Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic also today decided on a model to cover the tax debt incurred by the national broadcaster (HRT), and according to the Finance Ministry this debt reached HRK 377.7 million on 12 June 2013.
The HRT will cover 81.1 million through property lease and the remainder of HRK 296.6 million will be covered through debt conversion into equity.
