Croatia again among EU countries with highest rise in industrial output
Croatia again stood out among the European Union countries last November when it recorded a rise in industrial output, according to a report by the EU statistical office Eurostat
In November 2014, compared with October 2014, seasonally adjusted industrial production in Croatia rose by 2.7%, following a lean growth rate of just 0.3% in October. Croatia had recorded the highest increase in industrial production among the EU member states in September, when it reached 4.6%.Industrial production in the EU28 rose by 0.2% in November 2014, compared with growth of 0.3% in October. The highest increases were registered in Ireland (+4.6%), Hungary (+3.3%) and Croatia (+2.7%), and the largest decreases in Lithuania (-2.0%), Latvia (-1.7%) and Malta (-1.4%).
Compared with November 2013, EU28 industrial production decreased by 0.1%, while in October 2014 it was up 0.8% year on year. The highest increases were registered in Ireland (+35.8%), Hungary (+5.8%), Estonia (+4.9%) and the Czech Republic (+4.7%), and the largest decreases in Sweden (-3.9%), the Netherlands (-3.5%), Slovakia (-3.3%) and France (-2.9%).
In November 2014, Croatia recorded a year-on-year increase in industrial production of 2.8%, maintaining the same pace of growth as in the previous month, according to Eurostat.
In November 2014, compared with October 2014, the euro area also recorded a slight rise in industrial production, of 0.2%, while compared with November 2013 it decreased by 0.4%. In October 2014, compared with October 2013, it increased by 0.8%.
