Croatia confirms 60 new COVID-19 patients, 2 new deaths, 37 more recovered

Sixty new COVID-19 cases were confirmed and two persons died in Croatia over the past 24 hours, the national civil protection authority said on Tuesday.

The total number of patients is 1,282, Health Minister Vili Beros said at the daily press conference.

The average age of those infected is 48 and 51% are men, he added.

The latest two fatalities of the novel coronavirus are a man born in 1929, a chronic heart patient who died in Sibenik, and a man born in 1974 who died in Zagreb, the minister said.

Thirty-five patients are on ventilators - 16 in Zagreb, eight in Split, five in Osijek, four in Zadar and one in Rijeka and Sibenik each.

Beros said 167 persons had recovered from the disease, 37 more than on Tuesday, and that 352 patients were hospitalised.
