Croatia has five new cases of COVID-19, one more fatality

In the last 24 hours five new cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Croatia and one more patient has died, the national team managing the coronavirus crisis said on Monday.

"The outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Croatia happened 70 days ago. In the last 24 hours there have been five new cases, which puts their total number at 2,101," said Health Minister Vili Beros.

One patient has died, a woman born in 1960 who had been hospitalised in Split and who had suffered from other chronic diseases.

The total number of fatalities now stands at 80.

Three of the five new cases are from Osijek-Baranja County, one is from Koprivnica-Krizevci County and one from Split-Dalmatia County.

So far 39,040 tests have been conducted, including 956 in the last 24 hours, and 5.38% of the tested persons have tested positive.

Fifteen patients are on ventilators and 228 people are hospitalised, three fewer than on Sunday.

A total of 1,522 people have recovered from the coronavirus infection, 33 more than on Sunday, Beros said.
