"Following the fulfilled criteria and reforms, Croatia today received a payment from the European budget in the amount of EUR 822 million from the Mechanism for Recovery and Resilience and thus became the first country in the European Union to be granted a request for the payment of the fifth instalment," the Prime Minister Andrej Plenković pointed out.

The fifth installment of funds from the Mechanism for Recovery and Resilience, worth 822 million euros, was paid to Croatia from the European budget today.

With that payment, Croatia reached a total of more than 4.5 billion euros of absorption from the EU Next Generation Instrument.

"Croatia is the most successful country in the European Union in implementing the National Recovery and Resilience Plan," Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said.

He added that so far 100 percent of the planned obligations have been successfully fulfilled, that is, 157 reform and investment indicators out of the same number of planned ones, and thus a substantial amount of grants for the implementation of numerous investments has been secured.

The total amount allocated for the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for Croatia is slightly more than 10 billion euros.

With this payment from the European budget, Croatia will have a total surplus of over 16 billion euros, compared to the amount it paid into the European budget in the first 11 years of membership.
