Croatia, Israel willing to deepen defence cooperation

Croatian Defence Minister Mario Banožić and Israeli Ambassador Ilan Mor said on Tuesday they were satisfied with the two states' bilateral cooperation and open to "deepening defence cooperation in areas of mutual interest," the ministry said in a press release.

Banožić thanked Israel for the aid sent after the devastating earthquake that struck Sisak-Moslavina County on 29 December, saying that he was confident "the two friendly states will in the future deepen cooperation to mutual benefit."

"In the past few years we have developed good military and technical cooperation and managed to strengthen the ties between our defence industries, which I consider a very important aspect of our future cooperation," Banožić said.

Mor said both countries were interested in continuing cooperation in defence, the military and cyber security.

In the field of military and technical cooperation, Croatia's Defence Ministry and Armed Forces have developed very a dynamic cooperation with Israeli defence companies and the two states also cooperate in firefighting, the press release said.
