Croatian Deputy PM and UNDP representative meet

ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Friday received the head of the Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Croatia, Yuri Afanasiev, and thanked him for his cooperation, notably for the evaluation of a programme of personal assistants to support the disabled.

The meeting focused on plans to sign a memorandum between the government and the UNDP regarding cooperation in social inclusion and safety in the community.

Kosor and Afanasiev exchanged information about the implementation of the convention on disabled people's rights and of the "Roma Inclusion Decade" program.

Kosor said Croatia had made considerable progress in the employment and education of members of the Roma minority.
