Croatian Deputy PM Kosor speaks about combating violence against women

ZAGREB, June 10 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor addressed in Strasbourg on Tuesday a final Council of Europe conference on combating violence against women, including domestic violence, speaking about the implementation of the campaign in Croatia.

Kosor said Croatia endorsed the new draft European convention on preventing and combating gender-based violence against women with a strong monitoring body, said a statement from the Ministry of Family, War Veterans and Inter-Generational Solidarity.

Kosor suggested that work on a proposal for setting up a European guard against femicide should start immediately and that the Council of Europe should drafting guidelines for setting up the mechanism.
