Croatian PM receives Montenegrin foreign minister

ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday received Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen for talks on common interests and goals and the commitment of both countries to Euro-Atlantic integration.

PM Sanader congratulated Rocen on Montenegro's application for EU membership candidate status and membership of the US-Adriatic Charter.

He highlighted the importance of the work of the Croatian-Montenegrin commission in charge of preparing proceedings for sea border demarcation before the International Court of Justice, whereby the two countries are affirming their commitment to effectively settling outstanding issues in the European spirit of dialogue and understanding, said the press release.

Rocen briefed Sanader about the political and economic situation in Montenegro and commented on relations in the region.

Sanader stressed that Croatia was committed to reinforcing cooperation with Montenegro for the peace and stability of the region, and reaffirmed Croatia's willingness to help and share its experience in Euro-Atlantic integration processes.

Sanader accepted Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic's invitation to visit Montenegro soon.
