Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic received Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz during his official visit to Croatia on Wednesday, a government press release said.

Plenkovic expressed satisfaction with political and economic relations between the two countries, adding that they also cooperated well within the European Union.

He highlighted continued positive trends in trade between Poland and Croatia and the fact that about one million Polish tourists visited Croatia annually.

Czaputowicz spoke of Poland's plans to mark EU enlargement in Warsaw on May 1 and to organise a Berlin Process meeting on Southeast European countries in Poznan on July 5.

This year Poland presides over the Berlin Process, a diplomatic initiative promoting further EU enlargement.

The talks also focused on support for Croatia's bid to join the Schengen Area, the future of the European Union in light of Brexit, and further cooperation between Croatia and Poland in energy, digitisation, defence and security, the press release said.
