Croatian PM Sanader meets outgoing British ambassador Ramsden

ZAGREB, July 30 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Wednesday met the outgoing British Ambassador John Ramsden, the government's public relations office said in a statement.

Croatia's international position has never been stronger, Ramsden said, extending his congratulations to Sanader.

The British ambassador also underlined the similarity of Croatia's and Britain's positions on the prospect of EU membership for all neighbouring Southeast European countries.

Croatia has gone a long way in talks with the European Union, Ramsden said, reiterating that Croatia could count on Britain's help on its way to full EU membership.

The two officials confirmed that cooperation between Croatia and Great Britain was at a high level, and Sanader thanked Ramsden for his contribution to the promotion of bilateral relations.
