Croatian tourism minister visits Budapest and Prague to promote cooperation in tourism

Tourism Minister Darko Lorencin, who is currently visiting Hungary and the Czech Republic, has met with tourism officials of the two countries to discuss possibilities of improving cooperation in tourism, particularly through joint projects on distant markets.

Lorencin met in Budapest with Hungary's Deputy State Secretary for Tourism, Adam Ruszinko, who said that Hungary was expecting a mild economic recovery which could impact the number of tourists travelling abroad.

Lorencin expressed his satisfaction that the number of Hungarian tourists coming to Croatia was constantly growing.

"Hungary and Croatia are well connected by road and we invite Hungarian tourists to come to Croatia and enjoy themselves, not just in the sun and sea. Croatia offers a very good cuisine, wines, active recreation, bicycle routes and more," he said.

After visiting Budapest, Lorencin travelled to Prague to attend a tourism presentation of Central Croatia organised by the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ).

There too Lorencin was informed that the mild economic recovery in the country has led to an increased interest in travel, and Croatia, Slovakia and Italy are destinations that 50% of Czech tourists choose for their vacations.

Lorencin will remain in Prague until Wednesday when he is expected to meet with Regional Development Minister Karla Slechtova.
