Deputy PM Kosor holds talks with World Bank officials

ZAGREB, April 22 (Hina) - Croatian Minister of Family Affairs, War Veterans and Inter-Generational Solidarity, Jadranka Kosor, on Tuesday held talks with World Bank Country Manager for Croatia Andras Horvai and World Bank Sustainable development Manager from Washington Maninder Gill, the Croatian government said in a statement.

Thanking the World Bank representatives on the support to Croatia's projects so far, Kosor said that Croatia hoped to continue to cooperate with the bank in the future. She said that the Economic and Social Council (GSV) yesterday endorsed a law regulating the introduction of personal tax identification numbers.

Both representatives of employers and trade unions endorsed the adoption of the law at the GSV session.

Eleven-digit personal tax identification numbers will be assigned to every citizen of Croatia. The symbol HR will stand before the number. The introduction of taxpayer identification numbers is one of several anti-corruption measures, she said.

Horvai said the identification number was an important step fror Croatia. He also praised Croatian government measures aimed at helping the Roma.
