Deputy PM meets IMF delegation
Deputy Prime Minister and Regional Development and EU Funds Minister Branko Grcic on Tuesday met with an International Monetary Fund delegation led by its head for Croatia, Johannes Wiegand, for talks on key macroeconomic indicators and economic trends in 2014 and the next few years, public and private investment plans, and progress in the contracting and payment of money from European Union funds, the government said in a statement.
Grcic informed the delegation about the measures the government has taken towards fiscal consolidation and structural reforms, notably in the shipbuilding and health sectors, and efforts to improve the entrepreneurial and investment climate.
Wiegand commended the government's reform efforts and focused on the advantages that will result from the law on the stimulation of investments and the law on strategic investments.
The IMF delegation arrived in Croatia on February 20 for a 12-day visit as part of annual consultations.
