"The study will determine that the Peljesac bridge is the best solution, and the project, which is estimated at around 300 million euro. After that, we can publish a tender and implement the project with EU funds," Grcic said during a visit to Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

The Deputy Prime Minister responsible for regional development and EU funds, Branko Grcic, said in Korcula on Friday that road network projects aimed at connecting south Dalmatia with the rest of the country had been included in key documents applying for EU funding, the Partnership Agreement and the "Competition and Cohesion" Operational Programme, adding that by summer a feasibility study should be completed, the ministry has reported.

"We expect that the study, too, will determine that the Peljesac bridge is the best solution, and the project, which is estimated at around 300 million euro, includes access roads that connect the bridge with the main state road. After that, we can publish a tender and implement the project with EU funds," Grcic said during a visit to Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

"The most important thing is that we have secured money for better transport connections and integration of Croatian territory," Grcic said.

He underscored that the Dubrovnik airport project was exceptionally important for Croatia and that this 245 million euro project had already started and was also being financed with EU funds.

Grcic was visiting the island of Korcula to inspect several construction and renovation projects, ministry spokeswoman Ljubica Vuko said.
