EU grants Vukovar EUR 34 m for water infrastructure project
The European Commission has approved an investment of 34 million euro from the Cohesion Fund to improve, modernize and expand the water supply system and the wastewater collection and treatment system in Vukovar, an eastern Croatian town with a population of 30,000.
The total value of the project is EUR 48.2 million and Croatia will get 34 million from the Cohesion Fund, while the remainder will be financed from the national budget."This is an important investment for Croatia and a good example of how our regional investments contribute to improving the quality of life of the citizens while protecting the environment," EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu said.
Since its accession to the European Union on July 1, 2013 until 31 December 2013, Croatia has been allocated 449.4 million euro from the Cohesion Fund.
