Fake recording going round on social media about Zagreb being placed in quarantine

The audio recording going round on social media in Croatia that Zagreb will be placed in quarantine over the coronavirus outbreak is fake news, government spokesman Marko Milic told Hina on Thursday morning.

"We appeal to all citizens not to fall for such unverified, untrue and malicious information that unnecessarily disturbs the public," Milic said, adding that the government and health authorities keep the public regularly updated on steps being taken to curb the coronavirus pandemic in Croatia.

The audio recording says that it will be announced within 48 hours that Zagreb has been placed in quarantine, and that the true number of people infected with the novel virus is being kept from the public.
