Gov't pushes bill regulating regular and sale prices

The government on Thursday adopted a consumer protection bill which regulates special forms of sales, namely the sale of products and services at discount prices.
 

The bills envisages highlighting both prices - the regular and the discount price - at seasonal sale, clearance sale, special discounts, damaged products, expired products, etc.

Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak said the government-sponsored bill envisaged that sales periods could last up to 30 days.

Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic voiced hope the legislation would improve the status of consumers.
