Gov't sets up task force to find partner for Institute of Immunology
The Croatian government on Thursday established a task force for the selection of a strategic partner for the the Institute of Immunology, in which the state owns 74.31% of the stock capital, while the remainder, 26.59%, is in the hands of other shareholders.
Several potential investors have expressed their interest in the Zagreb-based institute, which makes drugs and pharmaceutical products and also does research. In late January, Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak, who is the chairman of the newly-established seven-member task force, said that the government would launch pre-bankruptcy proceedings for the institute as soon as possible, thus paving the way for the elaboration of a plan for restructuring the state-run manufacturer of immunobiological medicines and opening the door to due diligence for potential investors so that the completion of pre-bankruptcy proceedings may facilitate the accomplishment of strategic goals such as the maintenance of the institute's main line of business in Croatia.
