The Croatian government said on Thursday it would give its opinion on the audited financial statement for the Agrokor Group after the publication of a consolidated statement for the group for 2016.

"Initial findings that have been presented to the public today confirm that the adoption of the Law on Emergency Administration in Companies of Systemic Importance to the Republic of Croatia was justified. In the opinion of the Croatian government, the most important thing is that the Law adopted has preserved jobs, prevented a spillover of systemic risks to the entire economy and maintained the stability of the system, creating the preconditions for continued growth," the government said in a statement.

The government-appointed emergency administrator at Agrokor, Ante Ramljak, held a press conference on Thursday to present audited financial statements for the most important companies within the debt-laden Agrokor Group for 2016. The audit was carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

A full financial statement for Agrokor d.d. and the Agrokor Group was announced for Monday.
