Government dismisses media speculation about migrant wave changing its course to Adriatic

The Croatian Government most strongly dismisses speculation published by the media which cite government sources and insinuate that the migrant wave could take a turn towards the Adriatic.

"The Croatian Government most strongly dismisses speculation published by the media which cite government sources and insinuate that the migrant wave could take a turn towards the Adriatic. EU countries have been investing joint efforts regarding the movement of migrants so as to find a solution to the migrant crisis. Misinformation of this kind can harm the national tourism sector which, according to current forecasts, is expecting a record high number of tourists, as well as the national economy as a whole, and it may discourage possible investments," the government said in a statement.

The government is actively involved in processes aimed at finding a solution to the migrant crisis and will discuss it with other EU member countries, taking care of the country's security and stability, said the statement.
