A public procurement procedure has been launched for the reconstruction of 30 family homes and by the end of the year, procedures will be launched for another 135 houses and 10 apartment buildings, it was said on Wednesday at the presentation of a plan for housing construction in earthquake-struck areas.
Deputy Prime Minister and Veterans' Affairs Minister Tomo Medved reported on what has been done with regard to providing accommodation for people whose properties were damaged by last year's earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County.
Minister of Physical Planning and State Assets Darko Horvat recalled the legislative framework that has enabled the reconstruction process.
Two models for family homes financed by government 100%
State-Secretary at the Central State Office for Reconstruction and Housing Gordan Hanžek presented the plan and the models of houses and buildings to be built.
It is our duty to build houses in line with European regulations, houses that will be safe against earthquakes while at the same time respecting traditional architecture, and functionality and energy efficiency standards, said Hanžek.
The state will finance the construction of family houses 100% and beneficiaries can choose from two models - urban or traditional - and six types of construction.
Reconstruction has started and Croatian companies will have the opportunity to participate in the construction of almost four thousand facilities, said Minister Horvat.
The size of houses depends on the size of households, ranging from 55 square metres (1 or 2-member households) to 85 square metres (families of five or more members), and people currently living in housing containers have priority.
A public procurement procedure was launched today for the construction of 30 urban houses and in a week's time, a public procurement procedure will be launched for another 30, traditional style houses. Ten will be 55 square metres in size, ten will be 70 square metres and ten 85 square metres.
Hanžek estimated that the procedure could last about five weeks, after which the relevant contracts will be signed with builders.
