HRK 155 milion available to Croatia until 2017 as part of EU's LIFE environment programme

About 155 million kuna is available to Croatia until 2017 under the European Union's LIFE programme designed for environmental protection and climate action projects.

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund has secured up to 50 per cent of the remaining amount that applicants need to finance themselves, Environment Minister Mihael Zmajlovic said on Wednesday.

Public entities, private companies and non-governmental organisations registered in the European Union may apply for funding under this programme. A tender will be opened on 1 June and will last until 15 September 2015 for the Climate Action sub-programme and until 1 October 2015 for the Environment sub-programme. Projects are to be submitted to the European Commission via the eProposal website.

In June, the Ministry and the Fund will publish a call on their websites with a list of themes for projects that may be proposed for national co-financing.
