Transport Minister Oleg Butkovic said on Saturday that a HRK 3 billion (approx. €405.4 million) contract on the upgrading of the Krizevci-Koprivnica-Hungarian border railway would soon be signed with a Turkish company.

"The value of the contract exceeds the value of the Peljesac Bridge project. The railway is part of the Mediterranean corridor," Butkovic said in an interview with Nova TV, adding that the contract would be signed with the Cengiz company.

"As in other big infrastructure projects, we expect a lot of Croatian companies to be involved as well," he said.

The minister also announced that next week he would sign a HRK 350 million contract on the upgrading of the Savski Marof-Zagreb railway.
