Ministry signs contracts with domestic military equipment manufacturers

Contracts worth HRK 50 million (EUR 6.58m) signed with 22 Croatian manufacturers of military clothing, footwear, equipment and weaponry

Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovic on Tuesday signed contracts worth HRK 50 million (EUR 6.58m) with 22 Croatian manufacturers of military clothing, footwear, equipment and weaponry, saying the ministry would do everything to land as many contracts as possible to show that it did not wish to be only "a spender, but also a generator of development."

"We wish to help you, notably products that are globally competitive," he told the manufacturers, saying the ministry would save several dozen million kuna by the end of the year and use the money to buy more of their products. Chief-of-Staff General Drago Lovric also applauded the contracts. "The whole project is a strong incentive to domestic companies," he said. (Hina) ha
