Pensioners to get Christmas bonuses between 100-325 kuna

The Croatian government on Wednesday adopted a decision on the one-off payment of Christmas bonuses to pensioners which will be covered by funds from the Pensioners' Fund.

Pensioners will receive their bonuses by Christmas. Under the decision adopted today, those whose pensions do not exceed HRK 1,000 are entitled to a Christmas bonus of HRK 325, those with pensions amounting to between 1,000 and 2,000 kuna will receive 225 kuna, while those with pensions amounting to between 2,000 and 3,000 will receive HRK 145. Pensioners whose pensions exceed HRK 3,000 will receive a 100 kuna Christmas bonus.
 
"The payment of bonuses will start after 18 December and all pensions should be paid out by Christmas," said Labour and Pensions System Minister Mirando Mrsic.
 
The government also approved funds from budgetary reserves to the Ministry of the Interior (HRK 4,018,508) and the National Protection and Rescue Directorate (HRK 3,734,137) to cover the costs of providing for refugees.
