PM Milanovic announces new decision on EAW in coming days

Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Thursday asked the Croatian public for a little patience over the next few days when consultations should be conducted on the dispute relating to the implementation of the European Arrest Warrant and promised that after that a decision would be made that "will be good for Croatia."

At the start of a cabinet meeting in Zagreb, Milanovic said that this government was not jeopardising or gambling with national interests. He called on the public to show trust in his cabinet.

"Let us have a few more days for consultations with our partners, the (European Union) member-states and the European Commission, of course, as one of the stakeholders in this process. Let us draw some conclusions and make a good decision for Croatia," Milanovic said. "Let us be patient a little more," he added.

The Croatian government gave its approval for the lease of vehicles for eight ministries and four other budget beneficiaries, which will cost 96.7 million kuna (13 million euros).
The biggest portion of the funds will go to the Ministry of the Interior for 159 vehicles. The Ministry of Justice will lease 69 and the Ministry of Social Policy and Youth 16, among others.
During the open part of its meeting, which was the shortest yet, lasting only half an hour, the government sent draft amendments to the Foreign Affairs Act to Parliament and also proposed amendments to the Act on the State Commission for Supervision of Public Procurement Procedures.
