Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Thursday met with representatives of second-generation Croatian expatriate entrepreneurs, participants in a conference called Meeting G2.1.

During the talks, the two sides reaffirmed the need to continue building ties between Croatian business people living outside Croatia and their homeland. It was said that a stronger economy would not only encourage young people to stay in Croatia but would also motivate Croatian expatriates and their children to return to Croatia and work and live there, a government statement said.

After talks with the prime minister, the Croatian expatriate business people also held talks with Science, Education and Sports Minister Vedran Mornar, the head of the Investment and Competitiveness Agency, Damir Novinic, and the head of the State Office for Croats Abroad, Daria Krsticevic.

Mornar spoke about measures the state had taken to facilitate and encourage investments while the organiser of the Meeting G2.1 conference, an expatriate returnee from Venezuela, Josip Hrgetic, presented the conference's objectives and conclusions, the statement said.
