PM Milanovic receives visiting EC Vice-President

Croatian PM Zoran Milanovic on Monday held talks with European Commission (EC) Vice President responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyrki Katainen to discuss the new EC Investment Plan which hopes to mobilise more than 300 billion euro in private investments.

Milanovic and Katainen spoke about the establishment of a European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) and the opportunities that fund presents for Croatia, highlighting the importance of preparing a quality list of EU projects that would facilitate transparency and mobilise private investments.

Earlier in the day, the visiting EC official presented the EC's new Investment Plan to Croatian lawmakers in the national parliament and held a meeting with Croatia's Deputy Prime Minister responsible for EU funds and rural development, Branko Grcic.
