Speaking to Croatian Radio, Plenkovic said that the government had done much more and had been more courageous than any other Croatian government in the first 100 days of its term.

"We started after a politically very turbulent year for Croatia, we have restored political stability and a culture of dialogue and we have defused tensions. Activities in all government departments have been intensive and aimed at economic growth, social responsibility, solidarity, equity and legal security."

Plenkovic stressed that the government was open to all suggestions, recalling that at the start of his government's term he had accepted an amendment by Social Democrat MP Zeljko Jovanovic, which, he said, was a very clear signal.

As for major topics on which opinions differ, such as the issue of INA and the proposal to buy out MOL's stake in INA by selling shares of the HEP power company, Plenkovic said the key criterion was how transparent, realistic and practicable a proposal was, as well as that it did not generate new debt.

He said that all proposals regarding INA were being considered but that many lacked particulars and were not well-defined enough. "When all is put on the table, we will hold talks," he said.

Asked what would happen with INA in the next 100 days in light of statements that now alternative options were being sought given that the plan on selling a stake in HEP to buyout INA was made public during the holidays, Plenkovic said that the proposal to sell HEP shares in an Initial Public Offering to buy out INA was aimed at helping the state remain the major stakeholder in both companies without generating new public debt, and at activating the financial market.

Commenting on statements coming from HEP workers' unions that they would not allow the sale of the company's shares, Plenkovic said that he would hold talks with unions and believed a consensus could be reached once the matter was explained in detail.
