PM Sanader and OSCE official on protection of human and ethnic rights

ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader on Friday held talks with the head of the Mission of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Zagreb, Ambassador Jorge Fuentes Monzonis-Villalonga, the government stated in a press release.

PM Sanader and Ambassador Fuentes were agreed that Croatia had achieved a high level of protection of human and minority rights, which led to the completion of the OSCE mission's mandate in Croatia at the end of 2007.

The mission has been replaced by an office with less staff to monitor war crimes trials in Croatia in cases transferred by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) to the national judiciary.

Sanader thanked Fuentes for the support he was giving to Croatia, and reiterated that his cabinet was willing to cooperate closely with the new OSCE office in Zagreb.
